Increase in short-term rental prices in Greece
The short-term rental market in Greece is showing a significant rise, despite the slowing trend observed in other European countries during the summer. According to recent data from the company AirDNA, demand for Airbnb-style accommodations remains strong in our country.
Specifically, the average daily rate for a short-term rental in Greece increased by 12.2% in June compared to the same period last year. The cost reached 178.80 euros, which indicates that property owners continue to benefit from increased tourist traffic.
This trend contrasts with the broader European market, where prices in many countries are showing signs of stabilization or even decline. Analysts point out that Greece remains one of the most popular destinations worldwide, which allows owners to keep their prices at high levels.
However, the continued rise in prices is concerning to experts, as it is directly linked to the difficulty of finding housing for permanent residence in many areas of the country. The issue of short-term rentals remains at the center of public debate, as it affects both tourism and the daily lives of residents.
