New subsidy program for remote work in mountainous and island regions
An important initiative to boost employment was recently announced, aiming to support residents in remote areas of Greece. The new program specifically concerns the country's mountainous and island regions, offering new opportunities to those who wish to work without needing to move to large urban centers.
The program is based on the possibility of remote work (teleworking). In this way, employees can offer their services to businesses, even if the company's headquarters is located in another region, by utilizing modern communication technologies.
The state subsidy is particularly significant, as it covers 90% of the employees' salaries and insurance contributions. This subsidy will last for 12 months, thus providing a stable foundation for both the employees and the businesses that choose to participate in the program.
The main purpose of this action is to combat unemployment in the most isolated areas of Greece and to retain the population in villages and on islands. At the same time, the development of the local economy is encouraged, as employees will be able to live and spend their income in their own communities.
This initiative is expected to facilitate many young people and professionals, combining professional rehabilitation with the quality of life offered by mountainous and island regions. Interested parties should monitor official announcements for participation requirements and application submission dates.
