Greece and Bangladesh in discussions on the migration issue
The Greek government and the authorities of Bangladesh have recently initiated formal discussions focused on the management of irregular migration. The goal of these contacts is to find solutions for controlling migration flows and to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
A central point of the talks was the process for the return of Bangladeshi nationals who have entered Greece illegally. The authorities emphasize that those who do not meet the necessary criteria for their stay in the country must return to their homeland as soon as possible, following legal procedures.
At the same time, both sides are examining the creation of legal migration pathways. This idea concerns providing opportunities for work and legal residence, so as to reduce the need for dangerous journeys and to ensure the safety of migrants who wish to work in Europe.
The Greek side seeks a fair and effective management of the issue, always adhering to international rules. The discussions are expected to continue in the coming period, with the aim of finalizing agreements that will help limit the illegal entry of migrants into the country.
