Concern over migrant smuggling networks: Greece's preparedness
Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, recently referred to the continuous activity of migrant smuggling rings. Taking the recent events in Ceuta, Spain, as an occasion, he emphasized that these networks are constantly seeking new ways and opportunities to illegally transport people onto European soil.
According to Mr. Plevris, the situation at the external borders of the European Union requires great attention and vigilance. The networks exploit weaknesses and crises to advance their plans, creating challenges for the security of member states.
The Greek government is closely monitoring developments and declares itself ready to take all necessary measures to protect its borders. Guarding the Greek borders is a priority, with the aim of preventing illegal crossings and confronting the organized networks operating in the region.
The management of the migration issue remains a critical topic for Greece and Europe. Authorities emphasize that cooperation between European countries is essential in order to effectively counter the actions of smugglers and ensure the safety of all citizens.
