New cell therapy unit at Papanikolaou Hospital
A significant upgrade to our country's health services has been achieved with the creation of the new Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and Cell Therapy Unit at Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki.
Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis visited the facilities and emphasized that Greece is embarking on a new path in the field of the most advanced medical treatments. This investment strengthens the capabilities of the national health system to offer modern solutions to patients in need of specialized care.
The new unit is fully equipped to meet the modern demands of medical science. It features 12 modern single-bed rooms, which have been designed based on international standards to accommodate patients undergoing transplants and other cell therapies.
In addition to the inpatient rooms, the space includes special facilities for managing critical cases. These infrastructures allow medical and nursing staff to provide high-level services in a safe and controlled environment.
The operation of the unit is a positive step toward strengthening Greece's public hospitals. With the completion of this project, Papanikolaou Hospital reinforces its role as a reference center for cell therapies in the country.
