New "Prolamvano" free preventive screening program begins
On Tuesday, October 13, the Ministry of Health's new program titled "Prolamvano" (I Prevent) will begin, offering free preventive medical examinations to citizens. The goal of the initiative is the early diagnosis of serious diseases and the promotion of prevention in the daily lives of Greeks.
The program will start with the provision of free mammograms for breast cancer prevention. Subsequently, the initiative will expand to include examinations related to cardiovascular health, covering a wide range of needs for the population.
Interested citizens can book their appointments using their Social Security Number (AMKA). The process has been designed to be simple and accessible, allowing thousands of beneficiaries to schedule their examinations at contracted centers.
It is noted that the "Prolamvano" program has already received a significant response, as more than 554,000 citizens have shown interest in the services provided. The government emphasizes the importance of participating in these actions, as prevention is the most important tool for maintaining public health.
