Impressive rise in tourism in Greece in 2026
Greece started 2026 with very positive results for its tourism sector. According to recent data, our country recorded a significant increase in international arrivals during the first quarter of the year.
More specifically, traffic at Greek airports and ports increased by 38.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. This percentage ranks Greece among the top tourist destinations in all of Europe.
Tourism experts emphasize that the demand for travel to our country remains high throughout the year. Visitors choose Greece not only for summer vacations, but also for short getaways during the first months of the year.
This increase is expected to significantly boost the Greek economy and support local businesses that depend on tourism. Authorities express their optimism that this positive trend will continue in the coming months as we approach the summer season.
