Optimism but also challenges for Greek scale-ups
According to new research by Deloitte, Greek companies in the growth stage, known as scale-ups, maintain a high level of optimism about their future. Despite the positive outlook, these companies face significant pressure regarding finding new customers and increasing their revenue.
Data shows that 66% of Greek scale-ups are actively seeking additional funding to continue their operations and expansion. Although this percentage is slightly lower than the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) regional average, where the corresponding figure reaches 70%, it remains particularly high for Greek standards.
The need for capital highlights the difficulties that growing businesses encounter in their effort to stabilize in the market. Business owners are called upon to manage competition while simultaneously trying to attract investors who will support their business plans.
The trajectory of Greek scale-ups serves as an important indicator of the state of the domestic economy. Despite the challenges, the appetite for growth remains strong, which shows that the ecosystem of startups and scale-ups in Greece continues to evolve despite economic pressures.
