“Daedalus”: Greece’s new national supercomputer begins operation
A significant technological development is taking place for our country, as the new national supercomputer named “Daedalus” is now ready to be put into operation. This is a project of great importance that is expected to strengthen Greece’s computational capabilities in the field of research and technology.
The official inauguration of the supercomputer is scheduled for Monday, October 19th. This event marks the beginning of a new era for the Greek scientific community, which will have at its disposal a powerful tool for data processing.
“Daedalus” was designed to support complex computational tasks that require immense power. Its capabilities are expected to help researchers, universities, and public institutions carry out studies that until now were difficult to complete due to limited technical resources.
The installation of this supercomputer places Greece on the map of countries with advanced IT infrastructure. This investment aims to promote innovation and strengthen the country’s competitiveness at a European and international level.
With the start of its operation, “Daedalus” is expected to offer solutions in critical sectors, such as climate change, medical research, and artificial intelligence. The scientific community is awaiting with interest the first results from the use of this new system.
