The Greek economy and the issue of national income
The Greek economy presents interesting data regarding the country's production and income. According to recent economic data, Greece's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounts to 225.197 billion euros.
However, experts point out the difference between GDP and Gross National Income (GNI), which is estimated at 218.152 billion euros. This difference reflects money that is generated within the country but does not necessarily remain in the Greek economy.
Furthermore, depreciation, which concerns the wear and tear of capital during the production process, is estimated at 29.509 billion euros. These figures indicate that a significant portion of the wealth produced is not added to the final national income.
Overall, the loss of primary income is close to 19 billion euros. These figures are a subject of discussion for analysts, as they highlight the challenges the country faces in its effort to maintain growth within its borders.
