Investments of over 1 billion euros in the Greek pharmaceutical industry
A new cycle of investments in the pharmaceutical sector is expected to give a significant boost to the Greek economy. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that investments in the Greek pharmaceutical industry now exceed 1 billion euros, strengthening the country's role in the fields of health and innovation.
During a relevant event, the importance of strengthening domestic drug production was highlighted. These investments concern the creation of new production units, the upgrading of existing infrastructure, as well as the strengthening of research and development of new formulations by Greek companies.
Particular reference was made to the need to connect Greek production with the Greek diaspora. The Prime Minister emphasized that a strong "bridge" of communication and cooperation must be built with Greeks abroad, in order to utilize their expertise and promote Greek products in international markets.
This initiative aims to create new highly skilled jobs, limiting the phenomenon of "brain drain," i.e., the flight of young scientists abroad. At the same time, strengthening the pharmaceutical industry contributes to the security of the country's supply of essential medicines, reducing dependence on imports.
In conclusion, this investment is a positive step for the country's development. The government estimates that the pharmaceutical sector can become one of the key pillars of the Greek economy in the coming years, combining scientific progress with extroversion.
