Greece concludes its term on the UN Security Council
Greece is preparing to conclude its significant term on the United Nations Security Council. The country's participation in this supreme body of international security comes to an end on December 31, closing a cycle of intense diplomatic activity.
During its tenure, Greece took on critical roles in promoting peace and stability. One of the highlights of this period was the Greek presidency of the Council, which took place in May 2025. During that month, our country was responsible for coordinating discussions and decisions on urgent international issues.
Greece's representation was carried out through its Permanent Mission to the UN, which worked intensively to strengthen international law. Our diplomats participated in numerous negotiations, striving to find solutions to complex crises affecting the global community.
The completion of this term marks a milestone for Greek foreign policy. Our country has proven that it can play an active role in global affairs, promoting dialogue and cooperation among the member states of the United Nations.
