Changes to quiet hours: What citizens need to know
As of today, new regulations regarding quiet hours in Greece have come into effect. These changes aim to better protect the peace of citizens during the day and night, strengthening social coexistence in neighborhoods.
According to the official provisions, avoiding loud noises is now mandatory during the afternoon rest period, which is defined from 15:30 to 17:30. During this time, citizens are requested to limit activities that cause disturbance, such as playing loud music or performing work that generates noise.
Similarly, strict rules apply to evening hours. Quiet hours during the winter period begin at 22:00 and last until 07:30 the following morning. During the summer period, the corresponding time frame is set from 23:00 to 07:00 in the morning.
Adherence to the above rules is essential for maintaining the quality of life in residential areas. The authorities remind the public that violating quiet hours can lead to complaints and sanctions, as respect for neighbors is a fundamental obligation of every citizen.
Interested parties can find detailed information about the applicable provisions from the competent police authorities or official government websites, so as to avoid misunderstandings and problems in the daily relationships between residents.
