Western Thessaloniki at the center of new productive development
The 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) served as the stage for significant announcements regarding the city's future. The Deputy Minister of Interior, responsible for Macedonia and Thrace, Stavros Kalafatis, emphasized that Western Thessaloniki is at the heart of the government's planning for the country's economic development.
According to Mr. Kalafatis' statements, the region is gradually being transformed into a "spearhead" for the new productive Greece. The goal is to create a modern business hub that will attract investments, strengthening the local economy and creating new jobs for the area's residents.
Planned projects include the upgrading of infrastructure and the utilization of industrial zones. Authorities aim to turn Western Thessaloniki into a hub of innovation and commerce, connecting the region with international transport networks and the wider Balkan market.
This initiative is part of a broader government effort to decentralize economic activity. Strengthening the regions is considered essential for ensuring balanced development throughout the Greek territory.
The completion of these plans is expected to radically change the image of Western Thessaloniki in the coming years. The citizens and entrepreneurs of the region are following these developments with interest, anticipating a new era of prosperity and growth for their city.
