Healthcare workers' protest march in the center of Thessaloniki
The traditional march of healthcare workers has been underway since Thursday morning in the center of Thessaloniki. Health sector employees are conducting what is known as the "Health Caravan," a mobilization organized every year ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).
Protesters gathered to voice their demands regarding public health and working conditions in the city's hospitals. The march began in the city center and moved through the main streets, causing temporary traffic adjustments in the area.
During the protest, minor tension occurred between the demonstrators and the police forces present at the scene to ensure order. Despite the tension, the march continued as planned toward its destination, with the healthcare workers declaring their determination to demand better provisions for the health system.
This mobilization is part of a series of events traditionally held in the city ahead of the start of the TIF. Authorities are monitoring the situation, while citizens are advised to avoid the city center to prevent inconvenience caused by the traffic regulations.
