Strengthening cooperation between Greece and South Korea in the shipbuilding sector
In his recent statements, the South Korean Ambassador to Greece, Ju-seong Lim, highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the two countries in the shipbuilding industry. Greece, as the leading maritime power globally, constitutes a strategic partner for Korean shipyards, which are seeking to expand their activities in the European market.
Mr. Lim emphasized that Korean shipbuilders hold the Greek shipping community in high regard. According to him, Greek shipowners possess a unique insight, deep experience, and a special instinct that has allowed them to remain at the forefront of international seas for decades.
This cooperation is expected to focus on the construction of modern and environmentally friendly vessels. As global shipping shifts toward a "green" transition, the synergy between Korean technology and Greek expertise is considered essential for addressing new challenges.
Both sides express their optimism that joint investments and the exchange of technical training will further strengthen the commercial relations between the two nations. This initiative represents a significant step for the development of the maritime economy, offering new opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth in the sector.
