Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Nikos Christodoulides: Common stance on the Cyprus issue
In their recent meeting, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides discussed the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean region. The two leaders underscored the importance of close cooperation between Greece and Cyprus during a period of intense geopolitical instability.
Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that Greece remains tangibly by Cyprus's side, noting characteristically that "the drums of war are sounding loudly again." This statement reflects Athens' concern regarding developments in the Middle East and the impact they may have on the wider region.
For his part, the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, pointed out that the Cyprus issue is no longer just a local problem. As he stated, it is now understood by all that it is a European problem, which requires the continuous attention and support of the European Union.
This meeting confirms the high level of coordination between the two countries. Greece and Cyprus seek to keep communication channels open with their international partners, promoting stability and peace in the region.
