Professors' research: Lack of strategic planning in the National Health System
New research conducted by academic professors brings to light significant problems regarding the operation of the National Health System (ESY) in Greece. According to the study's results, the system appears to have developed without a central and comprehensive strategic plan.
The researchers point out that available financial and material resources are not always allocated in the most efficient way. As a result, the actual needs of citizens in all regions of the country are not properly covered, creating inequalities in the provision of healthcare services.
The study highlights that the lack of organization hinders the work of healthcare professionals and affects the quality of services received by patients. Experts emphasize that it is essential to have a new, long-term plan based on modern data.
In conclusion, the research serves as an important reminder of the need for reforms in the public health system. Improving resource management remains the key challenge for upgrading healthcare in Greece in the coming years.
