Nine-month military service for 2026 C Series recruits
The Ministry of National Defense has announced a significant change concerning young men who are set to serve their military service in Greece. Specifically, those conscripts called to report with the 2026 C Series, which begins at the end of August, will have the option to serve a nine-month term.
This regulation applies exclusively to young men who will enlist as scheduled, without having requested or received a deferment for personal or other reasons. This decision is part of the broader planning of the Armed Forces for human resource management and the organization of recruitment series.
Interested parties are invited to obtain detailed information from local Recruitment Offices or through the official website of the Hellenic Army. It is important for recruits to check if they meet the requirements in order to benefit from this specific duration of their service.
This development is expected to affect thousands of young men preparing to fulfill their military obligation next year. The authorities emphasize that timely arrival and adherence to procedures are essential for the smooth integration of conscripts into their units.
