New digital tool for immediate updates on forest fires in Greece
A new initiative for the timely information of citizens regarding forest fires has recently been launched in Greece. It is called "Fire News Alerts Greece," an automated channel on the Telegram messaging app, which has been designed to provide immediate, real-time information.
The main goal of this tool is to quickly notify users about the outbreak of new fires across Greek territory. Through the app, citizens can receive automatic updates, which helps in better informing the public about developments on the fire fronts.
The use of technology for protection against natural disasters is considered particularly important, especially during the summer months when the risk of fires is increased. The channel acts as an information hub, gathering data that helps citizens stay informed about the situation in their environment.
Access to the channel is free and open to all users who have the Telegram app. In this way, information becomes more immediate and accessible, strengthening the effort for better preparation and response of citizens to the emergency conditions caused by forest fires in the country.
