A new earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale occurred today in the Evia region, causing concern among residents. The seismic tremor was felt in several areas, while authorities are closely monitoring the development of the phenomenon.
The president of the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization (OASP), Efthymios Lekkas, speaking about the incident, clarified that today's earthquake is not directly related to the tremor recorded the previous day. According to him, this is a different seismic sequence that requires caution from citizens.
Mr. Lekkas emphasized that it is possible there will be further tremors in the coming hours or days in the same area. For this reason, scientists remain on alert, constantly analyzing data from seismographs to better understand the fault's activity.
