During this visit, he signed a minutes of meeting with Lhasa Customs aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two parties and promoting the export of specialty foods from the Tibetan plateau to Hong Kong. This agreement marks a significant step forward in food trade between the two regions.
The minutes signed this time primarily focus on food safety and quality supervision. Both parties agreed to establish a closer communication mechanism to ensure that all food products transported from Tibet to Hong Kong meet strict safety standards. This cooperation will not only safeguard the health of Hong Kong citizens but also enhance the competitiveness of Tibetan products in the international market.
Tibet possesses a unique natural environment, and its plateau foods are renowned for being pure, natural, and of high quality. Through this cooperation, Hong Kong consumers will have the opportunity to purchase more specialty products from Tibet in the local market in the future, such as yak meat, dairy products, and various plateau agricultural products. This will provide Hong Kong citizens with more diverse food choices.
Tse Chin-wan stated that this visit deepened the mutual understanding between the two regions in agriculture and food trade. In the future, Hong Kong and Lhasa will continue to engage in technical exchanges and regularly share regulatory experiences. This cooperation is expected to bring mutually beneficial results for both parties, promoting Tibet's economic development while enriching Hong Kong's supply of goods.
