Special Traffic Arrangements for Happy Valley Race Day
The Hong Kong Police Force announced that a series of special traffic measures will be implemented in Happy Valley to facilitate the horse racing event on May 13. The primary objective of these arrangements is to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic flow during the event.
According to the police announcement, traffic control measures will take effect before the start of the first race and will continue until all races have concluded and spectators have safely departed. During this period, several major roads near the Happy Valley Racecourse will be temporarily closed or restricted to vehicle access to facilitate crowd movement.
Police advise motorists to avoid driving to the affected areas unless absolutely necessary. Members of the public planning to attend the races at the racecourse or travel to the Happy Valley area should prioritize using public transport, such as the MTR or buses, to avoid delays caused by traffic diversions or congestion.
Furthermore, police officers will be deployed on-site to maintain order and will adjust control measures at any time based on actual traffic conditions. Closed roads will be reopened once all spectators have left and traffic returns to normal. Citizens should pay attention to the instructions of police officers on-site and remain patient to jointly maintain good traffic order.
