Department of Health Announces Clinic Service Arrangements Under Inclement Weather
Due to the impact of inclement weather, the Department of Health (DH) announced special arrangements for various clinic services today (June 18). The primary objective of this measure is to ensure the travel safety of the public and healthcare staff under unstable weather conditions, ensuring that public services can operate safely.
According to the DH, as the Observatory had issued relevant weather warnings at the time, all clinics under the DH were suspended during the morning session. The scope of affected services is extensive, including methadone clinics, dental clinics, student health service centres, and various specialist clinics. The Department urged the public to stay indoors in a safe place as much as possible while the warning signals are in force.
As weather conditions gradually improved, the DH also explained the standard procedures for resuming services. Generally, if the weather warning signal is cancelled before noon, clinics will typically resume normal operations within two hours after the cancellation of the signal. However, before heading to the clinics, members of the public should pay attention to the latest government announcements via radio or television to confirm whether the clinics have reopened.
Regarding appointment holders who were unable to attend their consultations on time due to weather issues, the DH stated that the public need not worry. Affected patients can bring their original appointment slips to the clinics after services resume, and healthcare staff will reschedule their consultation times. Additionally, methadone clinics usually provide special medication collection arrangements for patients in need to ensure that treatment is not interrupted.
Finally, the DH reminded the public to stay alert to weather changes during inclement weather.
