Cheaper Euro and Security: Hungarians' Appetite for Foreign Travel Increases
Since the beginning of June, demand for foreign travel has significantly increased in Hungary. With the start of the summer season, more and more Hungarians are deciding to spend their holidays in other countries. Behind this trend are several economic and political reasons that make planning and traveling easier.
One of the most important factors is the development of the forint exchange rate. Currently, the price of the euro is hovering around 350 forints, which is more favorable compared to previous periods. This means that Hungarian tourists can spend more money abroad, and travel packages as well as accommodations have become more accessible for them.
In addition to economic reasons, the improvement of the international situation also plays an important role. Concerns regarding the Iranian conflict have decreased, so people are planning long-distance trips more boldly. The increased sense of security has a positive impact on the tourism sector, especially in the case of popular holiday destinations.
According to experts, this trend could continue throughout the entire summer season. Travel agencies' turnover has already risen, and many are choosing Mediterranean beaches or the attractions of neighboring countries. It seems that Hungarian travelers will be more active this year than in previous years.
