Chinese Ambassador to Budapest on Hungarian-Chinese relations and the role of Péter Szijjártó
Gong Tao, China's ambassador to Budapest, recently spoke about the economic and diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the conversation, the work of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó was also discussed, with particular regard to the investments of the Chinese car manufacturer BYD in Hungary. The ambassador spoke appreciatively of the Hungarian government's efforts aimed at making Hungary a European hub for electric vehicle manufacturing.
Gong Tao highlighted that the construction of the BYD factory in Szeged is an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries. The project not only creates jobs in the region but also strengthens Hungary's position in the international market, while tightening professional cooperation between Chinese and Hungarian industrial players.
According to the ambassador, further Chinese investments are expected in Hungary in the future, as the trust between the two countries rests on a stable foundation.
