Hungarian farmers to receive emergency aid due to drought
The Hungarian government has announced significant assistance for agricultural producers. The goal of this extraordinary measure is to mitigate the severe damage caused by this summer's drought, which has threatened the operations of many farms across the country.
According to official information, farmers will receive their EU subsidy advances as early as September. The payment amounts will be higher than in previous years, as the government decided to increase the support framework in light of the difficult weather conditions.
Receiving the advance payment is crucial for producers, as the drought has led to a significant decrease in crop yields, resulting in a loss of income. The funds, arriving via an accelerated procedure, will help farmers prepare for the next season and maintain continuous operations.
The Hungarian State Treasury has already begun preparations for the payments. Farmers do not need to submit a separate application for the increased amount; the system will automatically process the data based on previous subsidy applications.
This measure is expected to positively affect tens of thousands of Hungarian farms. The government's goal is to use these subsidies to ensure the security of food supply and protect the competitiveness of the domestic agricultural sector during this challenging period.
