Uzbek independence is thirty-five years old
Uzbekistan celebrates the 35th anniversary of its state independence this year. The country declared its sovereignty on August 31, 1991, in the final months of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of the Central Asian state.
Over the past three and a half decades, Uzbekistan has undergone significant political and economic changes. Since gaining independence, the country has continuously built its relations with the international community and has striven for modernization as well as the establishment of economic stability.
Cooperation between Hungary and Uzbekistan has become closer in recent years. The development of diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries plays an important role in joint projects, particularly in the fields of education, trade, and the energy industry.
On the occasion of the anniversary, numerous celebrations and cultural events are being held in Uzbekistan to celebrate national identity and the achievements of the past decades. The jubilee also provides an opportunity for the country to take stock of its future objectives and further development opportunities.
