More than 600,000 aid packages to be distributed in Hungary
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced the launch of a large-scale aid program in Hungary. The organization is donating more than 600,000 aid packages to refugees from Ukraine, as well as to Hungarian families in difficult circumstances.
This initiative builds on the collaborations that were launched in 2022, following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. The goal of the program is to provide direct support to those who were forced to leave their homes due to the conflict, or who are in need of assistance due to economic hardships.
The packages contain basic food items, hygiene products, and other essential supplies that facilitate daily life. The UNHCR emphasized that close cooperation with local partners is essential for the effective distribution of the aid.
The organization is committed to continuing its support for those in need in Hungary in the future. This current operation is the largest assistance effort of its kind to date, which also strengthens solidarity between refugees and Hungarian families.
