European Commission ties the disbursement of EU funds to Hungary to further conditions
According to the latest information from the European Commission, Hungary must meet further strict conditions, so-called "super milestones," in order to access funds from the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
These milestones represent specific commitments that must be jointly implemented by the European Union and the Hungarian government. The goal is to ensure the transparent and regular use of funds, as well as compliance with rule-of-law standards in the country.
As part of the process, the Hungarian government must introduce various reforms that also affect the independence of the judiciary and anti-corruption measures. According to experts, the fulfillment of these steps is essential for the European Commission to give the green light to the payment of subsidies.
Although negotiations are ongoing, the unlocking of funds remains dependent on the successful implementation of the reforms undertaken by the Hungarian government. It may be decided in the coming months at what pace the expectations from Brussels can be met, which will have a direct impact on the Hungarian economy and development projects.
