Revolutionary change in the world of electric cars: solid-state batteries are coming
Technological development has reached another milestone in the field of electric transport. According to experts, traditional lithium-ion batteries could soon be replaced by so-called solid-state batteries, which could fundamentally change our perception of driving.
One of the most important advantages of the new technology is a greater range. Solid-state cells are capable of storing much more energy in the same size as currently used solutions. This means that electric cars will be able to travel much longer distances on a single charge in the future, which could significantly reduce concerns about the need for charging.
In addition to efficiency, the issue of safety also plays a central role. Current lithium-ion batteries contain a liquid electrolyte, which can be a fire hazard under certain conditions. In contrast, the new type of batteries uses a solid material, which drastically reduces the risk of fire, making the use of cars safer.
Although the technology is still under development, the global automotive industry is working hard to launch mass production. If developments proceed as planned, electric vehicles equipped with this new, more reliable, and efficient energy storage system could soon appear on Hungarian roads.
