Hungarian hauliers seek help due to high fuel prices
Road hauliers in Hungary have found themselves in a difficult situation recently. NiT Hungary, one of the most important advocacy groups for the profession, has turned to the government for assistance, as businesses can no longer cover their rising expenses.
According to the organization, the biggest problem at the moment is fuel costs. The price of diesel accounts for a significant portion of transport costs, and the price increase directly threatens the operation and competitiveness of these companies.
Hauliers warn that if they do not receive support or a solution to the problem, it could lead to further increases in transport prices. Ultimately, this could also cause price hikes for consumers in stores, as transport costs are factored into the price of products.
Negotiations between the government and the advocacy group are expected to continue in the coming weeks. The hauliers are hopeful that they will be able to find a joint solution that stabilizes the sector's situation and prevents further economic difficulties.
