Prevention may become the focus of healthcare
According to PwC's international healthcare report, significant changes are needed in the field of medical treatment. The survey results show that the majority of patients and professionals believe the current system, which focuses on treating diseases, is no longer effective enough to face modern challenges.
65 percent of those participating in the research agree that in the future, the emphasis must shift from treating diseases to prevention. This means that the healthcare system should not only provide help when someone is already ill, but should also support a healthy lifestyle and early screenings.
According to experts, the future of healthcare is no longer decided solely within the walls of hospitals. Technological progress and a new mindset make it possible for patients to receive the necessary support in their homes or during their daily lives, thereby reducing the pressure on institutions.
This shift in perspective could also be important for Hungary, as strengthening prevention can improve the quality of life of the population in the long term. The healthcare of the future therefore represents a system that proactively protects people's health, even before diseases develop.
