After seven years, Hungary can participate in the Eurovision Song Contest again
Hungary has received an official invitation to the Eurovision Song Contest. The country has not participated in the international music competition for seven years, so this announcement could bring a significant change to the Hungarian popular music scene.
The news was confirmed by the public media provider, Duna Médiaszolgáltató. Although the fact of the invitation is known, no decision has been made yet as to whether Hungary will accept the opportunity and return to the competition stage next year.
The Eurovision Song Contest is one of Europe's largest television events, followed by millions of people every year. Hungary last appeared in the competition in 2019; since then, the country has remained absent from the event.
Public media experts are currently examining the conditions of participation and the potential benefits. Once the decision is made, it is expected to be revealed soon whether we will see a Hungarian performer in the international field again.
