The future of healthcare: prevention takes center stage over treatment
According to PwC's latest global healthcare report, significant changes are expected in medical care. The survey points out that people worldwide, including in Hungary, would increasingly place the emphasis on prevention rather than the current disease-centered system.
Based on the research data, 65 percent of respondents would support a direction in which the healthcare system does not focus solely on treating already developed illnesses. According to the respondents, regular screenings, support for a healthy lifestyle, and early detection would be much more important.
Experts believe that the future of healthcare can no longer be imagined exclusively within the walls of hospitals. Technological development and digital solutions allow patients to monitor their health status at home, which can reduce the burden on institutions.
In Hungary, there is also an increasing demand for more effective screening tests and prevention programs. It is important for the population that the healthcare system becomes more flexible and pays more attention to preventing diseases than to the retrospective treatment of already developed problems.
Overall, the report emphasizes the need for a shift in perspective. The goal is to create a sustainable system in which doctors and patients can work together to do a great deal for long-term health preservation even before symptoms appear.
