Budapest's Margaret Bridge built in Minecraft
The BTE Hungary team has unveiled a stunning digital creation. The group members have built one of Budapest's landmarks, the Margaret Bridge, in the popular game Minecraft, and its level of detail has surprised even seasoned players.
This project is part of the international "Build the Earth" initiative, which aims to recreate the world's buildings and landscapes in a 1:1 scale within the virtual space. The Hungarian team has already completed several other domestic structures, but the intricacy of the Margaret Bridge takes their work to a new level.
The virtual bridge is an accurate replica of the original, not only in its structure but also in its surroundings. The creators paid great attention to architectural details, allowing players to now walk digitally across the bridge spanning the Danube, which serves as one of the capital's most important transport hubs.
BTE Hungary's goal is to expand the virtual map with further Budapest landmarks in the future. Such initiatives not only showcase the creativity of the players but also serve as a form of digital heritage preservation, promoting Hungary's capital worldwide.
