Prevention may become the focus of healthcare in the future
According to the latest healthcare report by the international consulting firm PwC, significant changes are expected in medical care. The survey points out that patients and healthcare professionals increasingly want to focus on prevention rather than treating diseases that have already developed.
65 percent of the participants in the research stated that instead of the current system based on hospital treatments, they would support a model that prioritizes disease prevention. This shift in perspective could fundamentally transform how Hungarian healthcare institutions operate in the future.
According to experts, healthcare may move beyond the walls of hospitals and clinics in the future. Modern technological solutions, such as home health monitoring and digital screening tests, allow patients to be under constant supervision without having to appear in person at institutions.
This process could also provide important lessons for Hungary. Shifting the focus from treatment to prevention could reduce the burden on hospitals in the long term and improve the general health of the population. According to the professional community, the healthcare of the future will be much more about personalized care.
Overall, the report conveys a clear message: society is ready for change. However, successful transformation will require technological developments and making the healthcare system more flexible so that prevention can truly become accessible to everyone.
