Freezing record: IBM has created temperatures colder than outer space
IBM researchers have achieved a significant technological breakthrough at their laboratory in New York state. The experts have developed a special cooling device capable of producing temperatures much lower than previously possible.
The new device can cool its environment to 15 millikelvins, which is close to absolute zero. This value is even colder than the temperature measured in the depths of outer space, creating unique physical conditions for experiments.
This development is primarily expected to aid the advancement of quantum computers. Quantum processors are extremely sensitive to heat and can only function properly and without errors in such an extremely cold environment.
According to the researchers, the device could play an important role not only in scientific experiments but also in building the technologies of the future. With the help of this technology, they can develop more stable and powerful quantum computers in the future, which could fundamentally change information technology.
