CATL factory in Debrecen fined ten million forints
The authorities have imposed a ten-million-forint fine on the CATL battery factory in Debrecen. The reason for the decision is that the Chinese company violated several provisions stipulated in its environmental permit.
During the official inspection, it was revealed that the factory's operations did not comply with strict environmental regulations in every respect. The imposition of the fine signals the authorities' commitment to maintaining strict oversight of large-scale industrial plants operating in Hungary in order to protect environmental values.
The Debrecen plant is one of the largest investments in the country, producing batteries for electric cars. According to the company's statement, they are cooperating with the authorities and will do everything possible to avoid similar irregularities in the future.
The case has received significant public attention, as the balance between environmental protection and industrial investment is a high-priority topic in Hungary. The authorities have promised to continue regular inspections at the factory site in the future to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
