Difficulties surrounding fertilizer subsidies: many farmers missed out on assistance
Serious problems have arisen regarding the distribution of agricultural subsidies, which are adversely affecting many farmers. According to the latest news, significant disruptions have occurred in the subsidy system related to fertilizer purchases, causing a portion of farmers to miss out on the financial assistance they expected.
The severity of the situation is indicated by statistics showing that nearly 40 percent of farmers missed out on the subsidy. This shortfall poses a serious challenge to daily operations, as the price of fertilizer has risen significantly in recent times, placing a heavy burden on agricultural businesses.
Interestingly, in other European countries, such as Spain, the system operated differently. There, farmers received an amount equivalent to approximately 710,000 forints each to help them maintain production and cover costs.
For Hungarian farmers, the absence or difficult accessibility of subsidies could pose a long-term risk to the quantity and quality of crops. Experts suggest that in the future, it may be necessary to make subsidy processes more transparent so that funds truly reach those who need them most.
Overall, farmers continue to wait for a solution to the current situation. Stakeholders in the agricultural sector hope that they will encounter fewer administrative hurdles in future tenders and subsidy programs, and that they will be able to claim the assistance they are entitled to more efficiently.
