Problems with the construction of the BYD factory in Szeged: environmental regulations violated
The Chinese automotive giant BYD is currently building a massive factory in Szeged. This project is one of the largest and most important industrial investments in Hungary. However, according to the latest news, serious problems have arisen regarding compliance with regulations during construction.
Authorities have determined that BYD has seriously violated the obligations set out in its environmental permit. During inspections, it was revealed that regulations intended to protect nature and the environment were not followed during construction. This news has received significant attention, as the investment has sparked much debate since its inception.
The Szeged factory is crucial for BYD's European expansion, and the Hungarian government also provides high-level support for the project. According to plans, the factory will create thousands of new jobs in the region, which could bring significant economic growth. At the same time, local residents and environmental organizations are constantly concerned about the factory's environmental impact.
Experts emphasize that, alongside economic benefits, compliance with the law is also extremely important. Such a large corporation must set an example in environmentally conscious operations. According to the authorities, these types of violations cannot remain without consequences, as protecting the environment is a common interest.
It is not yet known exactly what fine the company will have to pay or how it must rectify the errors. Authorities continue to strictly monitor the construction work. The goal is for the factory to comply with all Hungarian and European Union regulations before it begins the production of electric cars.
