Departing government members donate their severance pay to charity
Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced that, in accordance with a government decision, departing government members will waive their severance pay. The politicians have decided to donate the entire amount to charity.
The beneficiary of the support will be a children's home in Transcarpathia. The purpose of the decision is to provide assistance to children in difficult circumstances as the government cycle comes to a close.
At the press conference, the Prime Minister emphasized that the members of the cabinet made this decision collectively. The move is of symbolic significance, as the departing officials wish to support those in need in the neighboring country.
The Transcarpathian institution is facing particularly great challenges due to the war situation, so the donated amount could provide significant help for their daily operations and the care of the children.
The government announcement has received a positive response, as the funds will directly serve to improve the quality of life of the children. Further information regarding the details of the handover of the support is expected at a later date.
