Severe drought and heatwave hit Hungary
In recent times, extreme heat and a lack of precipitation have been making daily life difficult in Hungary. According to experts, the drought experienced across the country is a cause for serious concern, as soil moisture levels have dropped to a critical point.
Based on agrometeorological reports, the drying out of the soil directly contributes to rising temperatures. Under normal circumstances, the moisture in the soil has a natural cooling effect; however, due to the lack of water, this process is now absent, causing the air to become even hotter.
This phenomenon particularly affects agricultural areas. Due to the water shortage, plant development has slowed down, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for farmers to maintain crop security. Specialists are continuously monitoring weather data to assess the extent of the damage.
In the coming days, dry, hot weather is expected to persist across most of the country. Authorities are asking the public to pay close attention to their health and to avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day.
To address the situation, experts are drawing attention to the importance of water management. Due to the lack of precipitation, water-saving solutions and the application of proper irrigation techniques have become crucial throughout the country.
