Special electric truck enters service in the Netherlands
A Dutch transport company, Van Der Mierden Transport, has recently expanded its fleet with a special vehicle. The company has taken delivery of an exclusive DAF XD Electric truck, which was specifically designed to handle everyday logistics tasks.
The primary task of the new electric truck will be the transport of milk. This choice is particularly noteworthy because reliability and precise timing are crucial in the dairy industry, and electric propulsion offers a quieter and more environmentally friendly solution compared to traditional diesel-powered vehicles.
The DAF XD Electric model is an outstanding example of modern technology in road freight transport. The vehicle has been configured to operate efficiently on both urban and shorter-distance transport routes while significantly reducing harmful emissions.
Although the vehicle has entered service in the Netherlands, this development also impacts the international transport market. It is an important signal for Hungarian carriers as well, as electric trucks are playing an increasingly significant role in European logistics, which may affect the domestic transport sector in the long term.
