LG responds: are smart TVs safe?
In recent days, concerning news has emerged regarding LG's smart televisions. According to several sources, the devices may collect data on users even when they are not in use. The allegations suggest that the TVs could record sounds and monitor other network devices in the household.
The technology giant responded to the emerging questions in an official statement in recent days. LG firmly rejected the claims that their devices are spying on their owners. According to the company, the operation of the TVs complies with international data protection regulations in all cases, and the privacy of users is of paramount importance to them.
At the same time, experts point out that it is worth being cautious when using smart devices. Since these televisions are constantly connected to the internet, software vulnerabilities could theoretically pose a risk. The manufacturer advises customers to regularly update their devices' operating systems to ensure safe operation.
Overall, it is worth for users to review their television settings, where most data protection functions can be customized or even turned off. Although the manufacturer denies spying, conscious device usage remains essential in every Hungarian household to maintain digital security.
