Heat alert from Saturday and Ukrainian prisoner exchange
Starting Saturday, the highest-level heat alert will take effect in the country due to the extraordinary heatwave. Meanwhile, in neighboring Ukraine, a significant prisoner-of-war exchange has been carried out, and a decision has been made regarding large-scale reconstruction funds.
A third-degree heat alert has been ordered in Hungary starting Saturday due to the expected extreme heat. This is the highest level of warning, issued when the daily average temperature reaches 27 degrees Celsius for at least three days. At such times, the public must pay increased attention to hydration and avoid direct sunlight during the midday hours.
Alongside the heat, news of the conflict in the neighboring country is also prominent, where 160 Russian soldiers were able to return home as part of a prisoner-of-war exchange. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a 40-day military offensive, while both Kyiv and Moscow are under artillery attack.
In addition to the fighting, decisions were also made regarding reconstruction: Ukraine has signed a 10 billion euro agreement for the country's restoration. Although the president did not travel to the negotiations, the delegation secured significant funds for future works.
