MOL inaugurates new solar park in Algyő
The Hungarian energy sector has reached an important milestone: MOL has recently commissioned a new, high-capacity solar park in Algyő. The goal of the investment is for the company to use an increasingly higher proportion of renewable energy sources in its operations in the future.
The new facility has a capacity of 37.4 MWp, which represents significant capacity in the region. Alongside the solar park, a modern energy storage system has also been established, which helps ensure that the generated electricity can be utilized even when the sun is not shining.
Thanks to this development, MOL's Algyő site is now capable of covering the region's electricity needs in conjunction with its existing power plants. This solution not only increases the company's energy independence but also reduces environmental impact.
This investment aligns well with MOL's long-term strategy, which places an emphasis on more sustainable energy production. The company's goal is to further expand its renewable energy sources in Hungary over the coming years, thereby supporting the country's green energy transition.
