The Future of Healthcare: People Expect More Prevention and Digital Solutions
According to PwC's latest international report, the majority of people want to see a significant change in healthcare. 65 percent of survey participants believe that the current system should focus not only on treating existing diseases but much more on prevention. This shift in perspective could fundamentally transform medical services in the coming years.
The essence of a prevention-centered system is that doctors and patients cooperate more closely to avoid illnesses. This includes regular screenings, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and early diagnosis. The research highlights that patients no longer want to seek help only when there is already a problem, but want to take active steps to preserve their health.
One of the most important findings of the analysis is that healthcare is increasingly "stepping outside the walls of institutions." This means that with the help of modern technology, many examinations or medical consultations are becoming available from home. Smart devices and various digital applications allow patients to continuously monitor their own condition and visit hospitals or clinics only when truly necessary.
In Hungary, the modernization of the healthcare system and the reduction of waiting times are also becoming increasingly important topics. According to experts, shifting to prevention would not only improve people's quality of life but would also significantly reduce the burden on domestic hospitals in the long run. Therefore, in the future, there will be a need for more flexible and patient-centered care that adapts to the technical possibilities of the modern age and the new needs of patients.
