Pécs medical student team finishes in second place at the 53rd Medical Cup
Between April 9 and 11, Pécs hosted the 53rd Medical Cup, where students from the country's medical universities measured their knowledge and athletic performance. The team from the Faculty of Medicine at the host institution, the University of Pécs, also participated in the prestigious event.
Students from medical universities in Budapest, Szeged, and Debrecen were also represented at the three-day sports competition. Participants competed in various sports to determine which institution's team would be the most successful this year.
The medical students from Pécs performed excellently in the competition held on home turf. Thanks to the team's persistent work, they managed to secure a distinguished second place in the final standings.
The Medical Cup is not only about sports but also about community building. The goal of the event is to strengthen the bonds between future doctors who arrived in the Baranya county seat from different parts of the country.
Both the organizers and the participants considered this year's event a success. The silver medal won by the Pécs team fills the university community with pride, and the students are already preparing for next year's competition.
