The EU has approved the Hungarian economic recovery plan
The European Union recently approved Hungary's modified economic recovery plan. This decision marks a milestone for the country, as it allows access to a portion of previously frozen EU funds. The program aims to strengthen the Hungarian economy and support sustainable development in the coming years.
Based on the approved plan, Hungary can access a total of approximately 10 billion euros. This massive sum consists of two parts: about 6.5 billion euros in non-repayable grants and 3.5 billion euros in preferential loans. The influx of funds could significantly improve the country's financial situation and stability.
According to the plans, the Hungarian government will primarily use the money for energy modernization and environmental goals. Developing the electricity grid and promoting the use of renewable energy sources, such as solar energy, are of key importance. In addition, digitalization and the modernization of the education system are also among the priorities.
However, it is important to know that the payment of the money is not automatic but subject to strict conditions. The European Commission expects Hungary to implement various reforms in the areas of the rule of law and the judiciary. The full amount can only arrive if the government fulfills these so-called "super milestones."
Overall, the adoption of the plan is a positive signal for economic actors and investors. According to experts, the funds could help kickstart economic growth and further reduce inflation. The task for the coming months will be to launch specific projects and implement the committed reforms.
